What do they do? Spot in the Woods is a relaxed but high-quality kitchen café and boutique 11 room B&B in a stunning location at Woodlands in the New Forest, serving the local community as well as visitors to the area with great value food, drink and accommodation.

What did they need? Spot in the Woods is a new venture for the owners of the former Hotel TerraVina, itself a much-loved New Forest institution which was based on the same site. Spot in the Woods needed a full-service marketing agency who could help them with every aspect of marketing strategy and implementation for the new brand, starting with what to call it! It was critical that this new brand had its own clear identity that intrigued new visitors but retained the loyalty of existing TerraVina customers. It was also important that the new brand was one that staff could identify with, love and be proud of representing.

What did we do? It would be quicker to tell you what we didn’t do! We took Spot in the Woods through a comprehensive re-branding process, starting with working with the management team to name the new business and build a brand platform. From there, we developed and visualised the brand identity and documented a marketing strategy and marcomms plan so that the first 3 months of post-launch marketing activity were carefully planned and budgeted. Finally we oversaw the implementation of the brand into the various assets that were needed, from setting up new social media channels and managing them, to the creation of a new website, to managing design & print of lots of printed assets from menus to stationery.

 

All of this was completed in a whirlwind 8 weeks of activity which allowed Spot in the Woods to launch successfully at the beginning of March 2018. Since then we’ve helped Spot in the Woods look at new advertising opportunities and reported weekly on all their marketing KPIs so they know exactly what activity is driving the best ROI.

Tom and Su were suggested to us by personal recommendation and we were delighted to work with them in the planning and early months of changing the business concept.
